A new reflection!

As I have stated in previous posts, we live in a small tract house in So Cal.  So my entry is therefore 'small', if you can call it an entry at all!  Back in January I repainted a garage sale find mirror to add to my wall of mirrors, as I say 'tongue in cheek'.  Nothing like the cool wall of mirrors Mandi has at Vintage Revivals.  Too cool!

Anyway back in March I went garage saling with the girls and found a few more mirrors for the wall.  Here are a few pics of the before, I had already taken out the mirrors to get them ready for paint.

The square one has some acorn details and we have acorn details on the stairs and our buffet.  Pics to follow.  The scrolly mirror says it was made in Italy!  Got it for $5 and the other two were $5 together.
Here is a before pic of the wall.
See the front door is on the left and the stairs are on the right, small entry.  Well after painting and rearranging, here is my new 'wall of mirrors'.

I repainted the 'N' and turned it the other way.  This is where the hooks are.  I think it goes the other way, but DH disagrees!  I love how they turned out, now I just need to find 2 small ones for over the switchplate and at the bottom of the N row.  Then maybe I will go up!

Here a pics of our acorns.  When we redid the stairs in 2008 we added newel posts with acorn details.  A year later when my contractor was building my buffet, we used the acorns for the feet!  So now I am always looking for acorns!
Have a great week,

Laura

How does your garden grow?

We were blessed this year in So Cal, to get lots of rain! I am sure my friends in the Midwest would wish it would stop! As you may know So Cal has been in a drought, but after our winter rains, they say we are out of the drought, but I am sure that will change next year!

Here are a few pics of my garden, I went to the nursery yesterday and bought a few new plants, Mother's Day gift for me!

This is a little planter I have under the garage window on your way up the front walk. Here is the other one:

I have 2 clematis growing on the porch by the front door! They are doing great!

This is a cool pot I put together yesterday. Chocolate Cosmos in the center and Phantom and Picasso Petunia around the edge. Don't you just love the color!

This is the side yard garden we finished one year ago. I still am amazed by it. I have lots of veggies growing, they really love the sun.

Here is a windmill blade I got last year, can you see my friendly grasshopper on the bottom left?

Lastly here is my bouginvella on the back patio, love the color!

Have a great Wednesday!
